• Week Four: Time and Responsibility

    Weird, subtle allusions to time and responsibility have been popping up these past few days. I was helping a writer with her story in the Insight office on Tuesday and she asked me, quite plainly, a question I used to wonder about (and often still do) but never got enough guts to ask anyone: “How do you find the time? How do you balance school and work and magazine writing?” Taken aback, I sat silent and gaped at her.

    “Umm. I don’t know.”

    Week Three: The Study Abroad Dilemma

    While in the Insight (the student magazine) office on campus yesterday, I talked to Josh, one of the writers and a good acquaintance of mine. Before getting down to business, we talked about his semester last fall in Pau, France, through the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC). He talked about his host family, the friends he met, the landscape and the mix of modern and traditional culture in France.
